fwiw, even with the (as of this writing) latest 1.4-dev-r12744M-trunk   
(DarwinX8664), I still consistently get the same Unhandled exception 4  
at 0x27b864628ca4 when opening www.apple.com.

Just a guess: is process-interrupt reliably ensuring that the  
initialization of the web-view is happening on the main thread?
