The Pre_0_14 branch certainly exists.
I just tried checking it out with MacCVS Pro (2.7d3, which may or may
not be the most recent version.) It seemed to work fine; I set the
Default Module to "ccl", the default revision to "Pre_0_14", the server
hostname to "clozure.com", the CVS Root to "/usr/local/publiccvs", the
authentication method to "password" and the username + password both
to "cvs". Setting up the "local tree directory" and doing a "Check
Out Default Module" from the Action menu did a checkout.
Some of the files in the CVS repository (especially in the .nib
bundles inside OpenMCL.app) are binary files; MacCVS Pro wants to
be told how to map file extensions to classic MacOS file types
and line-termination conventions. It may be necessary to wrestle
with the configuration some in order to get things to work correctly.

There -are- GUI CVS clients that're a little more OSX-native, and
there may be newer versions of MacCVS Pro.
