Wow, this is great news, Gary. 

I'll be glad to help test OpenMCL's new MOP. Along those lines, for my
first report:

(compile-file "asdf")
(load "asdf")

fails with 
> Error in process listener(1): value #<EQL-SPECIALIZER NIL
   #x533E6F6> is not of the expected type (SATISFIES CCL::CLASSP).
