This went to the wrong list? How do I subscribe to the list that this  
was supposed to go to? :)

I've been seeing similar problems trying to get threads running on  
SBCL. x86-64 being the big loser at the moment, although plain-old  
x86 isn't all that great either, but at least there we occasionally  
pass all of our threads tests.
