The Python documentation was done with LaTeX for a long time... it
looked great. Also, with a desire to look like the Hyperspec it may be
possible to get the appropriate style files to mimic the style. They
later dropped it for a native Python solution, reStructuredText.
I'm personally not a big fan of texinfo, to my mind its a dead format.
But as Gary says, YMMV.
I have a feeling that what it will come down to is actually converting
the DocBook to another format and seeing how it goes and how much work
it will be over time to maintain.
