I know what you mean: c.l.l. is generally full of pointless, inane,
rambling conversations that just never end.  About all that you can do
is to try to ignore them and hope that they eventually do end, since
they tend to negatively affect the signal-to-noise ratio of the list.

Oops. I meant "newsgroup". of course.
