[Openmcl-devel] Does the slot exist or not?

My first thought as well.   Hard to construct a scenario that would  
achieve that result.  I did checked that a fresh instance of that  
class had the slot and the slot name was ms-polygon::controler; and  
not a controler in some other package.

My apologies, i see I truncated the right side too much in my screen  
shot.

Well, now I've restarted everything and the problem has evaporated.  I  
hate computers.
