I am not at all inclined to lobby for STEP implementation. As I intended to imply in my original question on this, I did wonder whether single-stepping is generally regarded as useful in the CL community. It is entirely possible that as I gain experience I may never find much need for it.

I guess I am still in the mode of mapping my old knowledge (including source code debuggers that allow single-stepping) onto the Lisp world. I know that this habit should end sometime or other, or else I'll never make the paradigm shift away from the Simula/C/Java world I come from. I'm just not there yet.

And anyway, I always write bug-free code right from the get-go....
