[Openmcl-devel] slime and unicode: Lisp connection closed unexpectedly: connection broken by remote peer

Hello,

I was trying out the settings in
http://trac.clozure.com/ccl/wiki/InstallingSlime and even with 

(setq slime-net-coding-system 'utf-8-unix)

(defparameter language '日本語) just quits with this msg:

Lisp connection closed unexpectedly: connection broken by remote peer

I'm running Clozure Common Lisp Version 1.5-dev-r13475M-trunk
(DarwinX8664)! with slime 2010-03-05 in Emacs 23.1.93.
