Hi,
Well, sad, but probably hard to avoid. I did love the PPC. Now, that said, if someone is close to Geneva Switzerland I have two G4 powerbooks that worked when they were turned off 3 years ago that one could have. The fact that those laptops were turned off 3 years ago and have not been turned on since tells me that I am not likely to be able to pick this up much as I would like otherwise.
Thanks for supporting the PPC for as long as you did!
cheers
bruce
PowerPC port, your life force is running out.
In fact, the PowerPC port is all but dead now. Maybe it's a zombie, if you're an optimist.
We haven't had any working PowerPC hardware since January. So, as things stand, PowerPC binaries will not be included with the 1.11 release that I am just now starting to put together.
I do not really expect anyone to care very much about the PowerPC port, but I thought I would mention it. Maybe all zero of you PowerPC users out there can band together and help keep the port alive by providing some hardware or funding or both.
Joking aside, as long as keeping the port alive is not a lot of trouble, I would like to do so, if only because it's the only big-endian port. But, I think we're getting to the point now where keeping it alive is going to be a fair amount of trouble.
