Good to know.</div><div>I think that process (storeagent) is launched as a result of actually launching the AppStore app ; if the AppStore app hasn't been launched since the last reboot (or log out-log in) it doesn't appear to be running. But I've just made some casual sampling of this behavior, so I'm not sure.</div>

</div>Since installing 10.6.6 there is a background process called "storeagent" that wants to connect to some external server. I have never opened the AppStore application and don't have it on my Dock. I don't know what information in being sent or requested -- I just blocked it.<br>
