   With CLTL, there are copyright issues... if you used the text from 
the standard, I think
that would be all right - I remember reading in some old c.l.l thread 
that it's explicitly
permitted.  Might be issues with getting that text from the hyperspec, 
though, even
though apart from typo fixes it's the same text as the standard.  I am 
not a lawyer, nor
do I play one on TV...

   I'm not sure what you mean by making the descriptions be persistent 
objects, or why it
would be better than putting them into the standard (documentation) 
facility.
