Interesting idea. Might be easier to start from Portable Hemlock, as the Hemlock that’s included in the CCL IDE has been very deeply intertwined with Cocoa, to the point where it might be (will be) difficult to disentangle the Cocoa bits.

If this worked, it might also be possible to get it to work with SBCL, since Portable Hemlock ostensibly already works with SBCL.

Of course the obvious other idea would be to get Hemlock working with a Wayland back-end. Then it could become an IDE for any common OS and any common Lisp.
