[Openmcl-devel] CCL and the Mac App Store

Last I heard there were no plans for Apple to grandfather anything. I haven't checked the discussion boards for a few weeks, but when I last looked there was a lot of concern being expressed by developers whose apps were going to be made less convenient to use or downright impossible under the sandboxing rules.
You can see the discussions at https://developer.apple.com/devforums/ . You have to be a registered developer to see them and participate, but if you plan on releasing software for the Mac you should be a registered developer in any case. I'd encourage people to participate and let Apple know their concerns.

That's part of why we want CCL in the store: so that we ask concrete questions about sandbox in reference to our existing app. But the potential sandboxing issues aren't related to the fact that CCL is written in Lisp; they're related to the fact that CCL is a development tool and so it wants to be able to do things like have read-write access to multiple files on disk, and know where its home directory is so it can load an init.lisp file.
